Objetivo: Analisar como a pandemia de COVID-19 impulsionou mudanças no setor varejista por meio de adoção tecnológica. Buscou-se entender os movimentos organizacionais e sua velocidade na adaptação rápida em resposta aos efeitos das restrições impostas.
Método/Abordagem: A instrumentalização de coleta de informações deste ensaio se deu por meio de relatórios de consultorias globais.
Principais Resultados: Os principais resultados indicam que a COVID-19 afetou o setor varejista e a continuidade dos negócios. O investimento em base tecnológica robusta é importante para contrapor os efeitos da pandemia e por fim, desenvolver uma mentalidade inovadora e ágil se torna inevitável na preparação para desafios futuros.
Relevância/Originalidade: A relevância desse ensaio está em apontar como os efeitos da pandemia de COVID-19 impactaram as operações no setor varejista e de que forma as empresas se movimentaram adotando tecnologias e tomando decisões rápidas para se manterem vivas neste contexto.
Contribuições teóricas e metodológicas: A contribuição teórica se dá por evidenciar os efeitos da pandemia de COVID-19 no setor varejista. Esta pandemia gerou uma das maiores limitações de pessoas em escala global e com impactos diretos no ambiente de negócios. Metodologicamente o ensaio contribui em trazer novas perspectivas sobre como o setor varejista avançou na adoção tecnológica para minimizar os efeitos da pandemia.
